Sivakarthikeyan’s next film has been named as Taana and would be directed by R.S. Durai Senthilkumar, who directed his Ethir Neechal which released in May this year. Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga, Ethir Neechal and Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam, Sivakarthikeyan’s three films in 2013, have turned out to be super hits.
Sivakarthikeyan, who has been paired up opposite only opposite newcomers and lesser known heroines, gets his first film opposite a leading heroine in Maan Karate where he has been paired up opposite Hansika. Screenplay of Taana has been penned jointly by author Pattukkottai Prabhakar and Senthilkumar.
Prabhakar explains that Taana is actually a Tamil word which refers to ‘police station’ (wonder how could Prabhakar set aside the fact that Thaana is a Hindi word which refers to the police station). The heroine to star opposite Sivakarthikeyan in Taana and other actors/actresses and technicians haven’t yet been finalized.
Whether Sivakarthikeyan would be essaying a serious cop’s role in the film or would continue in the same carefree youth’s roles he has essayed in the past would be known in the coming weeks.
